93% of people can't be wrong
CBA carried out a survey recently that asked the question: “If you were able to choose, which type of house would you prefer to buy, a house built of blocks and bricks or a house made from timber and plywood?
The reply was 93% in favour of blocks and bricks. When the responses were grouped into areas, gender and age there was very little variation in the result. The message was clear – people wanted to live in a masonry home!
People feel safe in masonry homes, and they trust them. The phrases ‘safe as houses’ and ‘put your money in to bricks and mortars’ sum up public attitudes in the UK.
