The Concrete Block Association's Chairman Chris Hudson, said - "The introduction of the latest Part E of the Building Regulations (Resistance to the passage of sound) and the government's drive to increase the density of housing, resulting in more flats being constructed and the need for higher strength concrete blocks, accounted for the switch away from using aircrete in favour of aggregate concrete blocks."

The Concrete Block Association (CBA) is the trade body representing an industry of some 50 manufacturers producing over 60 million m 2 of aggregate concrete building blocks per year from over 100 block plants nationwide.
