CBA and Aircrete Products Assocation in collaboration
CBA and APA have commenced working together in areas where interests are in common. These include:
• Where a more aggressive stance is required against timber frame than the Modern Masonry Alliance would take (due to resistance from the brick industry members).
• When APA and CBA wish to promote concrete blocks as a form of construction focussed on the inner leaf that competes against timber frame, rather than the more generic term of ‘masonry’ which encompasses both inner and outer leaf.
• Promotion of the recycled content of concrete blocks.
It was agreed to consider inviting each other to participate and contribute in the marketing of concrete blocks to be implemented outside the umbrella of the MMA. This has already come to fruition with a joint advertising campaign in, amongst others, the Housebuilder, Social Housing, Construction News, Showhouse.
